CONCORD, NH (AP) – Pamela Smart is once again seen denying a chance to break free nearly three decades after being sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for recruiting her teen lover for to kill her husband in New Hampshire.

Smart was 22 years old and worked as a media coordinator in a high school when she was accused of conspiring with student William Flynn to murder her husband in 1990. She is now 51 years old. This story inspired Kid Kid's 1995 film "To Die For".

Smart had asked for a remission hearing before a state board. The council, which had declined a similar request 14 years ago, voted Wednesday 4-0 to refuse a hearing. One member abstained.
