Panasonic announced the launch of the new LUMIX S1H full frame mirrorless camera, the third L-mount camera after the S1 and S1R models announced in February 2019. The S1H is the world's first digital interchangeable lens camera offering video recording 6K / 24p.
The S1H "combines the video quality of a professional camera and the high mobility of a mirrorless camera," Panasonic says. The camera can take 6K / 24p photos with an aspect ratio of 3: 2 or 5.9K / 30p with an aspect ratio of 16: 9. This is also the first full frame interchangeable lens system digital camera for 4K / 60p 10-bit recording.
Equipped with V-Log / V-Gamut with a dynamic range of more than 14 stops, the camera will produce images comparable to what you could have achieved with the $ 16,500 Panasonic Cinema VariCam and the renowned LUMIX GH5 / GH5S.
It can "capture everything from dark areas to bright areas," says Panasonic. "So much so that the color and even the texture of the human skin are faithfully reproduced."
There is no limit to video recording in the camera, so you can shoot as long as your memory card or battery allows (assuming the camera stays under certified operating temperature – otherwise, the recording could be interrupted to prevent heat damage). .

Panasonic has not yet revealed the specifications and capabilities of the S1H. A new ad will therefore be made for the camera before the scheduled release date in the fall of 2019. When it goes on sale, it will be priced at around $ 4,000.
