Paradox and Microsoft join forces to bring PC mods to Xbox One

Paradox Interactive has announced a partnership with Microsoft to create an open modding platform to make mods more readily available, initially bringing PC mods to its Xbox One games.

Under the name of Paradox Mods, the idea is to easily distribute custom content created by the user across multiple platforms. For the launch, Paradox is sending the project Mods integration to its strategy title, Surviving Mars, by offering a set of carefully selected mods (99 at the time of writing) from renowned creators of the gaming community

Paradox enthuses: "With Paradox Mods, mod creators can easily share their work with Xbox One and PC players (with the help of GoG or Paradox Launcher) in one download. Although Surviving Mars is the first to use Paradox Mods, it is expected to support other Paradox titles by the end of the year. "

Mod for that

It's a win-win situation for everyone, in fact, because PC moders can present their products to a wider audience, namely Xbox players, while console players also have access to big content additional for their favorite titles.

As for future Paradox games that can be supported by Xbox addicts, this is not yet clear, even though Stellaris (the console edition of the epic space strategy is being launched) could be a good bet, as indicated on the website of Paradox Mods – In addition, mods are also present for Cities: Skylines on the Xbox One.

Note that the Surviving Mars update, which adds the Paradox Mods feature, also provides mouse and keyboard support for Xbox One, a nice extra.
