In my initial testing of Parallels 17, I found it to work on Apple Silicon to be fantastic. There are a number of features that are worth upgrading if you are relying on virtualization for your work.

Improved performance
Parallels 17 shows notable speed improvements across the board. Recovery of an operating system is now 38% faster and OpenGL is up to six times faster. Apple Silicon Macs report a performance increase of over 20% with Windows 100 boot time, disk performance, and DirectX11 performance.
New Apple Silicon Features for Parallels 17
Windows 10 recognizes the battery status of macOS and helps save battery power when your Mac’s battery is low. Parallels 17’s new virtual TPM chip enables Windows 10 and Windows 11 to use BitLocker and Secure Boot for better data protection.
Automatic resource manager
One of the challenges with virtual machines is deciding how much macOS hardware to allocate to them. Parallels 17 includes an automatic resource manager designed to assess and advise on the optimal amount of hardware resources for each of your VMs.
Drag and drop content between Mac and Windows
My new favorite Parallels 17 feature is the ability to drop any text or image between Mac and Windows apps, including between Windows apps and macOS Monterey Quick Note.

These are just a few of the key features of the latest version of Parallels. Other upgrades include better control over disk space and more recognizable USB drive names. There is a new Visual Studio plug-in in the Mac Pro edition and additional deployment options for using Parallels in a managed macOS environment.
