DORAL, Florida –It was a chaotic after-school brawl scene on Monday afternoon that included an entire family, now facing felony charges and accused of assaulting a 76-year-old great-grandmother.
At around 3:20 p.m. on Monday, officers were dispatched to the area of 112th Place Northwest and 87th Street Northwest after a call about a brawl with injuries.
The mother of a 15-year-old boy is seen in video being beaten. The 12-year-old assailant and his parents, identified by Doral police as Michael Jason Laboy and Natalie Laboy, worked together to beat her son, the woman said.
“They are animals. That’s basically who they are, ”said the boy’s mother, who added that her son was bullied by the other teenager at school. However, the alleged perpetrator told police he was verbally assaulted by the 15-year-old.
During Monday’s argument, Natalie Laboy is filmed slamming, slapping and nailing the boy’s great-grandmother to the ground.

A police report recounting what happened indicated that the 76-year-old woman was waiting with the sister of the alleged victim for the boy to leave school.
The 15-year-old said he saw a white Nissan with tinted windows that was sitting in a parking spot and as soon as they passed the vehicle he said the 12-year-old jumped out of the car and tackled him to the ground.
While they were fighting, the boy said Michael Laboy and Natalie Laboy both got out of the car and started “kicking and punching him in the head.” As the 76-year-old great-grandmother tried to break up the fight, Natalie Laboy pushed her to the ground, the woman said. She told police that Natalie Laboy “grabbed her by the hair, grabbed both her arms and in doing so, her fingernails dug into her forearms. . . “
The victim told Local 10 News that his whole body was aching and showed us the cuts on his arms. Her voice was shaking and she fought back tears, telling Local 10 News, “It was a bad deed. Why did they have to do this?

Natalie Laboy said that during the altercation it was the great-grandmother who “pulled her son’s hair”. She said she was “trying to get the wife away from her son” and fell to the ground with the elderly woman.
The teenage victim said the dispute started at school when Laboys’ son last week threatened to “rape his 12-year-old sister”.
“I think my mistake is not to call the police when the child threatened to rape my daughter,” said the mother of the alleged victim.
The Laboys told police it was the victim who was bullying their son. Natalie Laboy told police her son told her that on Friday, September 17, the alleged victim punched her son in the mouth and threatened him. She said the other boy’s mother texted her asking what had happened, but she “didn’t respond because she was extremely upset.”
The 12-year-old and his parents now face aggravated battery charges.

The children are students at the Dr Rolando Espinosa K-8 Center. The altercation occurred away from school and after school, however, Miami-Dade County Public Schools released a statement about the incident after a request regarding the Local 10 News incident:
This video is extremely overwhelming to watch. Miami-Dade County Public Schools work diligently to promote core values such as respect and integrity among students. We urge parents to do their part by acting responsibly and serving as good role models for their children. Students are also reminded that negative behavior can have life-changing consequences. This issue will be dealt with administratively and the students involved will be sanctioned in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct.
