Seventeen people, including 14 students, were killed in the shooting, which sparked a nationwide movement for tougher gun control laws led by March For Our Lives, a group created by survivors of the shooting .
“(T) he shooting in our school was real. Real children have died and our community is still in mourning today, ”the organization’s Parkland section wrote in a tweet to Greene. “You should be ashamed of yourself and resign from Congress. Conspiracy theorists don’t deserve a place in the people’s household.”
CNN has contacted Greene’s office for comment.
A comment on Greene’s post read: “This is called a reward for keeping his mouth shut because it was a planned false flag shot.”
“Exactly,” Greene wrote in response, based on MMFA screenshots.
Another commentator called the pension “(k) ick in return for accepting the evil plan,” to which Greene replied, “My thoughts exactly !! Paid to do what he did and keep his mouth shut.”
Facebook deleted the comments for violating its policies after the publication of the MMFA report, according to a Facebook spokesperson.
“ My daughter and 16 other people were murdered that day ”
Survivors of the shooting and their family members have since sentenced Greene and asked him to resign.
“Apologize now or keep spreading these conspiracies and we are sure to make the next 2 years of your life not only your last in Congress, but hell too.”
Hogg added that the lawyers “would also accept your resignation in lieu of an apology.”
She also criticized the MP, writing that he “allowed children to be left defenseless against an active shooter. When he was supposed to protect them, he was a coward and refused to enter. He allowed 17 people to die. “.
Cameron Kasky, another alumnus, wrote of her statement: “This, besides being a stupid and meaningless message, in no way answers her calling it a false flag. Now she’s playing at full throttle. Don’t let her. “
Guttenberg replied: “You are a fraudster who must resign. Be prepared to meet with me directly in person to explain your conspiracy theory, and soon.”
Other gun control groups, such as Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action, have also called for Greene’s resignation.
Greene has a history of spreading conspiracy theories
The MMFA also reported on another Facebook post from Greene, in which she said she was “informed that Nancy Pelosi tells Hillary Clinton several times a month that” we need another school shooting “in order to persuade the public for wanting strict gun control. “
At the time, Greene told CNN that she was wearing media “attacks” as a “badge of honor,” but did not address previous blog posts.
CNN’s Tina Burnside, Annie Grayer, Andrew Kaczynski and Em Steck contributed to this report.
