The CEO of conservative social app Parler said all of its vendors had abandoned the company following recent bans from Google, Apple and Amazon.
“All the vendors, from text messaging to email providers to our lawyers, all left us on the same day,” Parler CEO John Matze said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.
Google banned Talking on Friday, Apple removed Talking on Saturday, and Amazon informed Parler it would be kicked out of the company’s web hosting services on Sunday night. Each company cited threats of violence posted on Speak as their reasons for removing the app. Screenshots of the app shared by activist group Sleeping Giants showed users calling for violence against Mike Pence and threatening new activity on the Capitol on January 19.
In a post Saturday evening, Matze said the service “will not be available on the internet for up to a week as we rebuild from scratch” and “many are competing for our business.”
But in Sunday’s interview, Matze said he was having difficulty finding a new supplier to work with. “We’re going to do our best to get back on line as quickly as possible, but we’re having a lot of problems because all the vendors we talk to say they won’t work with us. Because if Apple doesn’t approve and Google doesn’t approve, then they won’t. “
