Parts of San Antonio freed from boil water advisory, SAWS announces

SAINT ANTHONY – Millions of residents in the state and area of ​​San Antonio have had to endure a boil water advisory following this week’s winter storm.

Most of these advisories are still active and some people still have no water.

However, as of Saturday, February 20, some of those advisories have since been lifted, meaning it is no longer necessary to boil water before consumption.

Here are the notices that are no longer in effect:

Bexar County

• Parts of San Antonio can now drink and use their tap water without boiling, the San Antonio Water System announced on Saturday. Scientists at SAWS have determined that some areas of San Antonio will be immediately released from the boil water advisory. Additional areas are expected to be released in the coming days. • Although the advisory has been lifted in these areas, SAWS still recommends that customers rinse household hoses, ice makers, and water coolers at least once before using them for drinking or cooking. For more information, visit the SAWS website.

• The boil water advisory for the Lytle Town has been lifted.

Karnes County

• The boil water advisory for the town of Kenedy has been lifted.
