"

The authorities stated that the female passenger stated that she wanted to commit suicide and was acting in a way that could have been a danger to herself and others and therefore needed to be controlled.

"She seemed suicidal and she was sitting just inches away from me, screaming her head," Herbert told Eyewitness News on Twitter. "She was screaming to want to die."

In an audio program broadcast on liveatc.net by LaGuardia Air Traffic Control, the pilot informs the tower that there is an emergency on board.

"We just have a disturbed passenger, mentally disturbed, trying to open the front door," said the pilot. "Everything is under control now, we will roll to the door."

No injuries were reported and the passenger was removed from the aircraft.

The authorities point out that, irrespective of the woman 's attempts, the aircraft door is designed not to open in mid – flight and that the negative pressure does not allow the door to enter. ;open.
