Britt Reid, 35, has yet to face charges for the accident that seriously injured 5-year-old Ariel. He was reportedly investigated and operated on after the incident. He reportedly told the police that he had had 2-3 drinks and was on Adderall prescription.
FOX4 KC has obtained police documents corresponding to the details of the accident. The documents say Reid told police he was driving a van involved in the crash and told an officer he had had between two and three drinks and was on Adderall’s prescription. The station reported that no names were identified in the police report.

The accident took place near the south ramp of I-435, according to FOX4 KC. A driver of a Chevrolet Impala ran out of gas and on the ramp called for help, police said. The police report said the hazard lights were flashing, but the car’s battery was starting to die when a family arrived in a Chevrolet Traverse and parked near them with their headlights on.
The station reported, citing crash documents, that a white Dodge pickup was traveling south on the ramp to the freeway when the driver collided with the Impala and collided with the Traverse from behind.
The Impala driver was inside the car at the time of the crash and was not injured and two adults from the Traverse were also not injured, according to the station.

Reid joined the Chiefs in 2013 as a defensive assistant and rose through the ranks to become the outside linebackers coach in 2019.
