Patrick Mahomes trains again Thursday

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes returns to the training ground on Thursday.

The Chiefs Open Party reporters practiced shared words and pictures of Mahomes during the session with his helmet on. Word from the team on their level of participation will come later today.

There was some uncertainty over Mahomes’ level of practice on Wednesday as the Chiefs changed his full list of participation to limited participation, but he was on the pitch days after being forced out of a win in playoffs against the Browns. Mahomes is in the concussion protocol and also has a toe injury.

Consecutive days of fieldwork is a good sign for Mahomes’ chances of completing protocol and playing against the Bills.

TheAthletic’s Nate Taylor reports linebacker Willie Gay (ankle) and running back Le’Veon Bell (knee) were not on the field. Gay was the only chef listed as a non-participant on Wednesday.
