The New England Patriots continued to fill the gap, even after the NFL draft was finalized in 2019, as the team signed the contract with Louisiana State University freestyle running back Nick Brossette.

At 5-foot-11, Brossette returned to the Patriots after totaling 1,039 yards and 14 touchdowns, as well as 14 catches for 78 yards in 13 games for the Tigers last season.

Brossard's 1039 yards as a senior freshman allowed him to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards, joining a club with names such as ex-patriots Steven Ridley, Jeremy Hill and Kevin Faulk. Two players, Brossette, have been replaced by LSU, Leonard Fournette and Derrius Guice.

Bill Belichick may well know Brossette's abilities because of his relationship with Kevin Faulk, a Patriots Hall of Fame member and current LSU Director of Player Development.

Brossette will have some work to do when it comes to the Patriots, with New England already in the lead, she added Alabama running back Damien Harris last weekend.

The addition of Brossette, 23, offers the Patriots six halves in total between Sony Michel, James White, Rex Burkhead, Brandon Bolden, Harris and Brossette.
