There was no miracle in Miami that day. Instead, it was a bloodbath.
The Patriots were able to exclude the Dolphins, 43-0, to go to 2-0 this season. The defense was the story of New England, which continues to showcase its potential among the top five units in the league. Along with their shutout, the Pats were able to help off the offensive with not one, but two pick-six of Stephon Gilmore and Jamie Collins, with respect.
At the height of this fabulous New England defensive effort, Collins recorded his second pick of the game in the final few seconds as Miami attempted to clear the shutout.
While the defense was the takeaway of the game, all eyes were on Antonio Brown at the time of his debut in Patriots. Tom Brady, who completed 20 of his 28 passes for 264 and two touchdowns, turned to Brown early, completing three consecutive passes to his new receiver. The two even registered for a touchdown in the second quarter, one of his four catches that day for 56 yards.
The big worry New England out of this game however is the departure of the left tackle Isaiah Wynn who leaves with a foot injury and the difficulties of the kicker veteran Stephen Gostkowski.
As for Miami, there is not much positive to do Sunday, with only 184 yards of offense. The most important thing to remember is that they will have to do a better job of keeping those under the center. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Josh Rosen were under pressure all afternoon and were sacked seven times in total.
