WandaVision’s Paul Bettany has entered his third decade in the MCU, and he’s just as surprised as anyone.
It may be surprising to realize WandaVisionof Paul Bettany is entering his third decade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and Bettany himself is as surprised as anyone.
“I read this on Twitter – I couldn’t believe it was true,” Bettany said Squire. “So I checked it out and it turned out to be true.”
“I go for it around the age of 50, so it was a bit of a bad feeling for us,” continues the incredulous Bettany. “Three decades! What are they talking about? It turns out to be true.”
Bettany’s involvement in the MCU began with the very advent of the MCU in the 2000s with 2008 Iron Man, where Bettany provided the voice for Tony Stark’s creation of AI JARVIS Bettany entered the 10s continuing this role in the 2010s Iron man 2, then followed with 2012’s Avengers and 2013 Iron man 3.

The actor was finally able to appear onscreen with the introduction of Vision in 2015. Avengers: Age of Ultron. Vision was created when Tony and Bruce Banner downloaded JARVIS into a synthetic android, or “synthezoid,” created by Ultron as a possible upgrade. Prior to WandaVision, Bettany’s last appearance as Vision was in 2018 Avengers: Infinity War. The character was killed by Thanos when the villain picked up the Mind Stone that propelled him.
WandaVision showed that Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen, appears to have later recovered the mechanical remnants of Vision and somehow rebuilt it. Launched last month, the Disney + streaming series marks Bettany in its third decade in the MCU.
