What happens next WandaVision? Marvel Studios is keeping an eye out for any Disney + TV series spoilers about Wanda and Vision’s married sitcom happiness, but star Paul Bettany has a few things to tease about the upcoming episodes … including a top secret star he “always wanted to work with”. But who could it be?
Speaking to the Lights Camera Barstool podcast (via The Playlist), Paul Bettany, who plays Vision inexplicably relaunched in WandaVision, teased that “people’s minds are going to explode” once they see Episode 4 of the series, which premieres this Friday. Bettany continued cautiously:
“You can expect these two worlds [of the sitcom and the outside world] to… to have more conflict. I don’t want to say too much about future episodes but I will tell you this, there were more special effects requirements for our TV show than there were for End of Game. “
At this point, we’ve already gotten to know most of the neighbors in Westview, the sitcom suburb where Wanda and Vision have settled in their married life. But what about the mysterious outside world, where SWORD agents seem to be watching the sitcom, and beekeepers appear out of the sewers? No character has emerged from this side yet, although we might meet one soon, according to Bettany’s tease of a top-secret actor he has “intense” scenes with:
“So much is leaked out, but there’s this thing that’s been completely secret that is happening and I’m working with this actor that I’ve always wanted to work with and we have fireworks together, the scenes are great and I think people are going to be really excited. I’ve always wanted to work with this guy and the scenes are pretty intense.
It’s also possible that this is a new character in Westview, although that’s too hard to say for sure. But who could it be? It’s time to put on our speculative glasses! Since this is an actor Bettany has never worked with before, it cannot be anyone from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Many believe it could be Nathan Fillion, who was cast as Wonder Man in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 before the part is cut. But he could be resurrected WandaVision, especially after several clues were dropped about the character, including a sign for “Wonder Mints” in the episode 2 credits, and an illustration of Wonder Man in a featurette.
Either way, Bettany assures fans “are going to be massively surprised by the end of the show. I really think people are going to be like, “oh my god!” and they’re going to look at the MCU in a whole new light and understand a lot more in which direction it’s going.
WandaVision launches new episodes on Disney + every Friday.
