Make no mistake: Paul Felder had one of those Saturday nights that proved that a fighter can win even when their opponent is the one with their hand up.

Felder (17-6 MMA, 9-6 UFC) met former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos with just five days notice during the UFC Fight Night 182 main event in the ‘UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

RDA flaunted the old version of himself that once made him the best 155 pounds in the world by taking a decision victory over Felder in scores of 47-48, 50-45 and 50-45.

But Felder put in a valiant effort in the defeat, making the fight convincing enough to earn “Fight of the Night” honors. Then he stepped out and did one of the most heated MMA interviews you’ve ever seen with Michael Bisping on the ESPN + post-fight show.

This is already the kind of thing that will increase your stock with your fans. Then, later that night, images of Felder being sewn appeared on Instagram. Almost 37 minutes, in fact.

Some of these images are not for the faint of heart. But if you don’t mind the sight of a medical procedure, Felder is in a remarkably chipper mood given what he’s going through, and offers the same honest glimpse into his own performance that he gives to others when he goes through. works as a UFC color commentator.

“You forget the money when you’re there,” Felder says at one point. “You don’t think about the money when he kicks me in the ribs… and the coaches are yelling at you, ‘This is your cage,’ and you’re like, ‘Is that right? very strong. ”
