Paul Pogba is about to become the new captain of Manchester United.
Captain United United Antonio Valencia should leave Old Trafford this summer after 10 years at the club.
The 33-year-old has received Jose Mourinho's armband in the summer, but has only made eight appearances this season. A calf complaint partly explains why he made a departure under the direction of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Valencia hinted Friday night that he was about to leave the club – and Pogba became the No. 1 contender to replace him at the helm of United, according to The Sun.
Mourinho has eliminated the vice-captain of the French midfielder, but he has experienced a dramatic change of fortune since the arrival of Solskjaer.

Pogba was a regular and scored nine goals as the Reds revived their four hopes.
Before Mourinho's departure, his future at Old Trafford looked doubtful, but Solskjaer would be ready to hand him the captain's job in the summer.
Valencia is believed to have returned to Ecuador as it is recovering from its latest injury problem and expects to leave the club after a decade of service.

The Valencia contract will expire at the end of the season and it is understood that the club had until Friday 5 pm to trigger the one – year extension clause built into his contract.
Valencia wrote on Twitter: "Lago Agrio is a very modest city in Ecuador, when I was a kid I never imagined traveling to Europe.Thank you for letting me play 10 years in the best club in the world: @ManUtd.
"Now I'm focused on my recovery so I can finish the season at Old Trafford!"
