Paul Ryan, the former House Speaker, plans to transfer his family from Wisconsin to Washington, DC

"Now in the private sector, Paul and his family are temporarily renting a house in Maryland, and he will be spending time there and their family home in Janesville," 49-year-old Ryan's assistant told Politico.

The Republican nominee for the 2012 vice president said that he would not sell his home in his home country but that his decision to return to Washington – a city that he has always inhabited only through suffering and duty to his constituents – inevitably evokes the possibility of a political return, or a lobbying, corporate or lucrative advisory role.

Ryan's unexpected gesture comes after the end of a career in Washington where the former congressman had avoided permanent residence in the city. Ryan even continued to sleep in his office while he was the Speaker of the House.

"I live in Janesville, Wisconsin," said Ryan in 2015. "I commute every week, I work right here, I do not live here, I get up very early in the morning and work. I work until around 11:30 pm I go to bed and do the same thing the next day. "

Ryan's wife, Janna, 50, is a former tax lawyer and corporate lobbyist. The couple met on his 30th birthday. Their children Elizabeth "Liza", 17, Charles, 16, and Samuel, 14, attended a private Catholic school attached to the parish church where Ryan was an altar boy.

Since leaving the House of Commons in January, Ryan has focused on his nonprofit organization, American Idea Foundations, and has been appointed a board member of Fox Corporation.
