Gigabyte is the first on the market with a NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD

TechPowerUp has had time to quickly examine what PCIe 4.0 will offer with the Gigabyte Aorus M.2 NVMe Gen4 SSD motherboard and the ASRock X570 Taichi motherboard. PCIe 4.0 drives will be rare for a while, but once you can get one and an X570 motherboard, you can expect a 4GB ISO file to be copied to just 3, 8 seconds. For now though, their advice is not to spend $ 460 on this drive, as tests show that this specific NVMe controller is not taking full advantage of the bandwidth available on the new interface. The next generation has plenty of room to increase performance as technology evolves.
