SAO PAULO (AP) – Brazilian footballer Pelé “took a step back” in his recovery after surgery to remove a tumor from his colon, but he “is recovering well” in a Sao Paulo hospital, said on Friday his daughter Kely Nascimento.

The tumor was discovered when Pelé went for routine check-ups at the end of August. His operation took place on September 4.
