Pennsylvania state soldiers shot and killed a suicidal man who refused to drop his gun while standing on a highway bridge on Wednesday.

The soldiers responded to the upper bridge of Route 33 south in Monroe County and found Christian Hall, 19, armed with a rifle, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Trooper tried to get Hall to give up his gun and he complied. He then became uncooperative and started walking towards the soldiers, pointing the finger at them with the gun, state police said.

Hall was shot and killed by soldiers and taken into custody. He was then transported to Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg where he died.

Police continue to investigate the incident.
