Some online shoppers have announced that they are canceling their membership in Prime to support the strikes and protests of Amazon workers around the world on Day One, which began on Monday.

Thousands of Amazonian workers in the United States and Germany are on strike under this 48-hour deal. Demonstrations in the UK, Spain and Poland are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.

Orhan Akman, federal secretary of the German trade union Verdi, told Business Insider in a statement that Amazon warehouse workers were "deprived of the living wage".

Canceling your premium subscription takes more than one click.

Here's how to cancel your Amazon Prime subscription:

  • Log in to your Amazon account, hover over "Accounts and Lists" at the top right of the homepage, then in the drop-down menu that appears, click on "Your main membership".

  • On your Premium Membership Page, look to the left and select "End Membership and Benefits".

  • On the next page, Amazon will remind you how much you've saved on shipping costs in the last year with Prime. If you still want to cancel, click on "Finish my benefits".

  • You will be prompted to confirm your cancellation on two subsequent screens. Select "Continue Cancel" and "Cancel Membership" to finalize your Prime cancellation.
