Several people have reported ordering a PS5 Digital Edition only to find a disc version in the box. So far there are reports of what is happening in multiple regions on both Reddit and Twitter.

It is not known how this would turn out as it is assumed that there would be two completely different processing lines for each console. As far as I know, the recipients of these articles were not too unhappy that they got the disk drive for free.
