Lorde debuted on the popular spicy chicken wing-eating YouTube series “Hot Ones” this week and fans couldn’t believe how calm she was in the face of the intense heat.
The pop star spoke candidly to host Sean Evans about his upcoming album “Solar Power” and the various components that went into its creation (including cicadas ??). She also opened up about fame, life on tour, her onion ring Instagram account and her recent trip to Antarctica.
But Evans seemed most shocked at Lorde’s remarkable composure while eating some insanely spicy chicken wings as they spoke about the various topics during the 24-plus-minute show.
After eating the wing soaked in a sauce called Scorpion Disco, made with “onot the hottest [peppers] on earth ”according to Heatonist, Lorde simply said: “It’s good … I like it.”
Viewers were also in awe of her ability to enjoy super hot wings ‘casually’, and couldn’t help but notice on Twitter:
I actually can’t forget that Lorde eats tangy wings and adds extra sauce, takes double bites, eats more wings at the end, and reads the hot sauce labels for flavor notes. I don’t think she took a sip of water. adult men cried on this show.
