Sergio Perez said that he would talk to the FIA ​​after he almost hit two marshals with his F1 car at the Monaco GP.

Images taken aboard the Racing Point of the Mexican pilot show him avoiding the marshals during the period of the safety car.

"What was wrong with these marshals?" he exclaimed on the radio. "I almost killed them."

He then told reporters: "It was really serious, they were running right and I was coming out of the pits, I had to brake and they were very lucky to avoid them."

The incident was ironic given that in Monaco, the FIA ​​was celebrating its volunteers weekend.

"It's great that so many people are so passionate about sports and wanting to risk their lives for us too," said Max Verstappen on Wednesday.

"I just hope we all have a great weekend in safety."

After the incident, Perez pointed out that Monaco's marshals are reputed to be among the best in the F1 calendar.

"They are normally very good," he said. "At the end of the day, it is obvious that the safety of marshals and pilots is the most important."
