“Today Alex Trebek passed away. Did you know he was a generous conservationist besides being a famous game show host? He donated 62 acres of land in the Santa Monica Mountains to Nichols Canyon to create the Trebek Open Space, ”the Facebook post said.
“It wasn’t just a gift for urban Angelinos who crave open space and outdoor activities, but a gift for native animals such as our local Mountain Lions who need copious amounts of food. open space to survive, and a gift for future generations who will have to take climate change into account in the years to come, ”the statement said. “Thank you Alex Trebek and may you rest in peace.”
