2021 marks the 25th anniversary of the Persona franchise and a milestone for one of the most beloved JRPG franchises. It looks like series developer Atlus is teasing some big news to mark the occasion, with 7 announcements teased for the series.

The developer of the Atlus series has announced via Twitter that he’s preparing disclosures to coincide with the anniversary, and one 25th anniversary site mentions seven announcements that will be made over the next year, with the first taking place in September.

Several more announcements will follow over the next year, with the latest slated for fall 2022. Since the tweet is from both Atlus and Atlus West (the company’s western marketing arm of Atlus ), everything that is advertised seems likely to find its way. here. Hopefully it will be without the one year wait that we have had for some titles like Persona 5 Strikers.

It should be noted that often these anniversary announcements lead nowhere beyond the release of new merchandise, but the fact that the company teases seven announcements suggests that there could be something significant beyond that. usual merchandise drops. However, there is of course a mandatory link to a pre-order site for Persona related products if you want to get your hands on an assortment of key chains and mugs featuring the various protagonists and mascots of the Persona series.

The latest Persona games to launch were Persona 5 Royal (released in 2020 in the west) and Persona 5 Strikers (released earlier this year), both spinoffs from Persona 5, the last main entry in the long-running franchise. Persona 4 Golden was also finally released from its home PlayStation Vita and ported to PC in 2020 (leading fans to demand that it come to Switch as well).

Are you excited for the potential of other Persona releases? And would you like to see more releases with Joker and the gang, or have a sixth main entry announced?
