In June, mobile number portability registered 654,744 portals, due to intense competition and data plan promotions so users could enjoy the 2018 Russia World Cup from their phone. OSIPTEL)

Of the registered carriers, 68% are prepaid mobile lines (444,967 lines) and 32% are postpaid (209,777).

In the prepaid segment, Bitel reduced the number of lost lines compared to the previous month, while Entel continued to lose more lines due to portability in June. Movistar and Claro, on the other hand, maintained their net portability position because the number of lines won and lost varied almost in the same proportion. The launch of unlimited data promotions, by both companies, on the dates on which the Peruvian team played a match at the 2018 Russia World Cup contributed to these results.

In the postpaid modality, the Chilean Entel led this segment, despite the drop in deposits recorded in June, while the Bitel company recorded a slight improvement in the number of covered lines. Movistar's net position remains negative but in a smaller proportion than in previous months, due to the fact that it has reduced the number of lines lost, while the Claro company has stopped the downward trend.

Mobile portability dropped 6.97% in June, despite competition in the market; This would be due to the fact that in May there was a seasonal peak due to the promotions launched on Mother's Day. Historically, in May and December, for the Christmas season, the highest levels of portability are achieved.

If we dismiss May for the reasons given, in the comparison with April, we observe that the number of lines transported keeps a growing trend. In other words, in June, the number of front lines increased by almost 6% compared to April.
