A woman squeezed under the skirt of a red line train Thursday morning at Central Square Station, which caused a delay in service while rescuers were working for the company. 39, extirpate

She was taken to the Massachusetts General Hospital, officials said.

"I'm not going to beautify it," said the red line driver about the sound system to disoriented passengers. "It'll take a few hours."
At 0724, the MBTA issued an alert that the shuttles would replace the Red Line service in both directions between Harvard and Park Street.
Cambridge fire officials tweeted at around 7.45am that "the person was extirpated and will be transported to a medical center. The @CambridgeMAFire units are being cleaned up. Third power rail and control of the station was returned to MBTA. "
It was not immediately clear how the firefighters took the woman out.
"We have a host of tools that have been used for these incidents," said Cambridge Fire Chief Gerard E. Mahoney, during a brief telephone interview.
The fire department also thanked all the first responders who rushed to the scene.
"Thanks to @CambridgePolice and @MBTATransitPD as well as @ProEMSCambridge for their help to Central Square – the work of the Public Security Team always during emergency incidents, "the fire department tweeted.
