Fujimoristas and Apristas attend the IACHR for the "criminalization of politics" | The law

On Tuesday, a letter sent by the legislators of Fuerza Popular and APRA to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) was reported, warning of the purported intention of the prosecutor's office and the judiciary of " criminalize politics "in the country.

In the above-mentioned text, the provisions of the Peruvian Political Constitution on "The members of the Congress are not subject to an imperative mandate or an interpellation, they are not responsible before any authority or jurisdictional authority of the opinions and votes that they emit in the exercise of their functions." It is also emphasized that "To ignore this implies a violation of the fundamental rights of the people's representation and this can not be allowed."

Cécilia Chacón, a member of the Congress of Popular Forces, shared the letter on her Twitter account with the following message: "The IACHR Executive Secretary today received the statement in which former Peruvian parliamentarians and former parliamentarians express their concern over undemocratic threats from sectors of the judiciary seeking to criminalize the actions of parliamentarians"

It should be noted that the letter was sent on November 21 and received by the Executive Secretariat of the IACHR. It bears, in addition to the signature of Cecilia Chacón in the name of Fuerza Popular, the signature of Mauricio Mulder on behalf of APRA.
