ROSEMOUNT, Minn. – Authorities say that a driver and his daughter were killed when an 800-pound rock rolled to the back of a landscaping truck and was hit their car in the suburbs of St. Paul. Sixty-seven-year-old Karen Christiansen and her 32-year-old daughter, Jena Christiansen, were killed in Rosemount on Monday afternoon when the rock came off the truck and hit their Toyota Avalon.
They both died on the scene.
With the help of a surveillance video, Rosemount police detectives were able to identify Czeck's services as the company that owned the commercial vehicle involved in the incident, reports L & R. Affiliate of CBS, WCCO. The driver of the vehicle was then identified as Joe Czeck, 33, of Hastings.
Czeck was at Inver Grove Heights, was arrested and was incarcerated in Dakota County Jail, WCCO. The charges against him would be pending.
Authorities say that it took four firefighters to move the rock that was crossing the entire vehicle, reports WCCO.
