Adidas Opens the Doors of a New Originals Store in Peru

The German sportswear giant takes a step forward in Peru and opens the doors of its first flagship at street level in the country. The new Adidas Originals store is located on Comandante Espinar Avenue in the Miraflores district of Lima.

With an extension of 600 square meters spread over 3 levels, the new store is one of the largest companies in the country. The store mixes the concepts of urban fashion, Originals and the concept of neighborhood that had already been published in Peru in 2017. Floors, walls and finishes in cement and grayscale, with displays and tables in blends of metal and wood .

Adidas has 32 stores in the country, including children, outlets and traditional stores, in addition to 4 Originals stores. According to official sources, there could be a second opening this year, although its location has not yet been revealed.

As part of the near-term future plans in Peru, Adidas also plans to enter its own channel into the virtual market. At present, the brand's clothing is sold on the Web through channels such as the Falabella Department and Ripley, which together account for 4% of the total national business figure. The goal of the brand is to achieve by 2020 that at least 15% of its sales are achieved online.

Peruvian trade demand for sport and athletics continues to grow at a rate of more than 7% per annum, which has resulted in significant sales increases for international sports brands such as Nike, Adidas and New Balance. At present, Adidas ranks second in importance and billing sports brands in the country and intends to reach the top spot.

At the regional level, Adidas has expanded its presence in Argentina this month, with the opening of a new Adidas Originals store. The company also operates its own stores in Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Uruguay.

According to official reports of the company, Adidas closed the first quarter of the year with a 1.9% increase in sales to 5548 million euros. The Latin market is still not one of the most important places for the company, but it is one of the fastest growing regions.
