California authorities are looking for a man who, according to them, has fatally stabbed a young woman and injured her sister at an Oakland transit station on Sunday night, the latest of at least three unrelated homicides in Bay Area transit stations.
In a statement released Monday, the Bay Area Rapid Transit Police Department identified the suspect with the dagger as being 27-year-old John Lee Cowell, and warned that it "should be considered dangerous" .
Carlos Rojas the BART Police Department told reporters Monday that Mr Cowell was recently quoted for price evasion. Available court records show that Mr. Cowell has committed criminal and traffic-related offenses, but they do not specify the nature of the crimes.
