WASHINGTON – DC Water advises customers in some areas of the North West and Northeast to boil their water for cooking and drinking until further notice.
An open valve at the Bryant Street pumping station caused a loss of pressure. Its distribution system lasted for about an hour, the company said in a press release
A loss of pressure in the pipeline system means that it is possible for contaminants to enter the water [19659004]. in the area bounded by the following streets:

Customers should also boil water when they experience low water pressure or have no water. Water after 8:30 pm on July 12th. If guests do not have water, it is advisable to boil the water when service is restored.
To minimize the risk, DC Water indicated that customers should take the following steps:
- Let the faucet run until boiling
- Bring the water to a boil for three minutes [19659006] Let the water cool before using
- Keep the water cooled in a clean container with lid
Customers should use boiled water from the water or bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, preparing and cooking food, making ice cream, preparing infant formula or giving water to pets
DC Water stated that the problem was corrected. Company teams will continue to test samples of water and lift the notice when water is deemed safe.
If you are a client and you have not had low water pressure and you do not live in the affected area, you do not need to do boil some water.
