The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) and the European Union (EU) held a ministerial meeting to renew ties and re-launch cooperation for the future .

Challenges such as the strengthening of multilateralism, the fight against climate change and the promotion of open and fair international trade were some of the relevant issues that focused the conversations.
At the opening of the meeting, Salvadorian Foreign Minister Carlos Castaneda – as President pro tempore of Celac – called for initiatives to address challenges such as promotion of peace, security and sustainable development.
He also stressed objectives such as strengthening development cooperation, promoting fair trade, ensuring quality employment for all and defending gender equity.
"These are very big challenges, but we are convinced that with the interest we have, we can achieve these achievements for the future.
