An elderly mother shot her son because he thought of placing her in a retirement home, according to the police.
Anna Mae Blessing, 92, shot dead her 72-year-old son, whose name was released by the police, around 10 am on Monday.
The incident, which the police described as "a weird twist," took place at the house she was sharing with her son and girlfriend in Fountain Hills, Arizona. The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that Ms. Blessing had told investigators that she had been thinking for several days of her son's intentions to place her in an assisted living center.
