In the case of cocoa its production volume amounted to 17 000 286 tonnes, an increase of 18.68% over the same month of the previous year; mainly in the departments of San Martín (6.59%), Junín (12.29%), Ucayali (81.44%) and Cusco (4.40%), which contributed 84.6% to the total production.
In May 2018, the volume exported increased to 5 thousand 251 tons, an increase of 38.1%. The most requested countries are Belgium, Holland and Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the production of coffee reached 85 thousand 542 tons, an increase of 9.68% over May 2017, driven by favorable weather conditions.
San Martín (5.37%) and Junín (11.94%), whose total production represented 62% of the total, were among the departments distinguished by their production. In May 2018, the volume exported amounted to 5 000 747 tonnes, which had as country of destination Belgium, Germany and the United States of America.
While the production volume of banana reached 182 000 tonnes, an increase of 14.65%. The departments that stand out for their superior production are San Martín (13.19%), Ucayali (11.67%), Loreto (1.55%) and Piura (84.73%), which contribute 57.5% to total production.
In May 2018, the volume exported rose to 21,000 tons, registering a stronger demand from Holland, the United States of America, Germany and the Republic of Korea.
Moreover, in May 2018, the volume exported from Mandarin was 18 949 tonnes and increased by 28.5% over the same month of the year. ;last year. Among the countries with the highest demand are the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Canada.
The highest production of tangerine was recorded in the departments of Lima (12.87%), Junín (0.05%) and Cusco (2.98%).
The production volume of the avocado reached 99,069 tons, an increase of 3.12% over the same month of the previous year, recording the largest increases in Lima (8.39%), Lambayeque (37.64%), Ica (13.25%) and Arequipa (71.89%), which accounted for 52.3% of national production.
In May 2018, the volume exported rose to 70 thousand 613 tons and represented an increase of 16.3%. Among the most requested countries are Holland, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
