Latam: passengers carried increase only 2% in first half
The airline transports 33 million passengers in the first half. Traffic and passenger capacity has also increased.

Latam Airlines airline resulting from the amalgamation of Lan and Tam carried 33 million passengers in the first half of the year, during which time it has experienced an expansion of your finances and business operations. This figure means a growth of 2.6% compared to the same period last year. The result is due to better performance in its three units: the domestic market of Spanish-speaking countries (SSC) rose by 4.3%; the Brazilian domestic market, 0.8% and the international market, 3.2%.
The airline also increased in passenger capacity measured in ASK (available seats per kilometer): this increased by 4% in the first half of this year. This is mainly due to the units corresponding to the international market and the Brazilian domestic market, where there was a 4% growth in capacity for both units. For its part, the unity of the Spanish-speaking countries increased by 1.5% year-on-year
Regarding Passenger traffic Latam recorded a 3% expansion measured in RPK ( income per passenger), supported mainly by the performance of the Spanish and international markets. Traffic also increased in Brazil, where it increased by 2% compared to the first half of last year.

Despite the growth of capacity and passenger traffic, Latam recorded a year-over-year decrease of 0.8 percentage points (pp) in its occupancy factor . The result is due to a decline in the factor in the Brazilian market and in the international market, where there were decreases of 1.3 and 1.2 pp respectively. The decline was moderated by growth of 1.3 pp of the occupancy factor in the Spanish-speaking country market.
