Trump administration officials say that they reunited all parents with their children whom they considered eligible for those who are in immigration custody.
Domestic security officials said in a statement that civil servants would continue to work with families that could not be reunited.
According to officials, more than 1,800 children aged 5 and over were reunited with their parents or godparents.
Updated figures should be provided Friday during a hearing the federal judge in San Diego oversees the reunifications.

According to the Trump administration, more than 1,800 children ages 5 and older were reunited with their parents or godparents hours before the deadline. This includes 1,442 children who were released to their parents in US custody and 378 who were released in various other circumstances.
But officials say that about 700 others remained separated, of whom 431 were deported. The return of children to Central America takes more time, effort and paperwork as children return to Central America.
The federal judge in San Diego, who ordered reunification, must now decide how to treat the hundreds of people still separated. children whose parents have been expelled, as well as the time, if any, reunited parents should be allowed to file an asylum application.
