Mario Vargas Llosa will be the guest of honor at the Lima International Book Fair in 2019, announced José Carlos Alvariño, President of the Peruvian Book Chamber (CPL)
"We want to pay tribute to great Peruvian novelist and thinker, to reflect through his wonderful literary work and essay on our destiny as a country of writers, publishers and readers," said Alvariño.
In this way, the largest book fair in Peru, breaks the trend to dedicate the event to the lyrics of other countries to focus it entirely on its most universal contemporary writer.
The president of the CPL, organizer of the FIL of Lima, affirmed that the presence of the famous novelist will be used to analyze the state and the health of the book in Peru.
In May, Vargas Llosa also confirmed that he will attend the fourth edition of the "Hay Festival". of Arequipa, which took place in November this year.

FIL 2018 will open its doors from July 20 to August 5 at Parque de los Próceres, Jesús María. They will be more than 16,000 square meters that will have 160 exhibitors and through which will pass more than one hundred guests from twelve countries, almost half of them Spanish.

The fair, sponsored by the BBVA Continental Bank and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), will have some 900 cultural activities, including some at the Cultural Center of Spain in Lima.
