A 26-year-old woman and five of her children were killed in a Saturday morning fire at a Michigan motel, authorities said.
The fire swept the Cosmo Extended Stay Motel in Sodus, Michigan. ., around 1:45 am, killing the mother and her children, aged 2 to 10, said the Berrien County Sheriff's Office in a press release.
Police identified the woman as Kiarre Curtis; The police identified him earlier Saturday as being Kiarre Samuel.
Her husband, Samuel Curtis, 36, and his one-year-old daughter lived in the same room but survived the fire, the spokesman said.
The family was from the Benton Harbor area of Michigan, he said.
