Pete Prisco's Week 2 Picks in the NFL, Odds: The Packers beat the Vikings behind an improved defense, the Patriots put the Dolphins in rout

[ad_1]

The first week of the NFL season was a bit missed.

The game was irregular, the tackles were bad and the games, apart from a handful, were not as good as expected.

The beginning of week 2 Thursday night was not great either, so we hope for some nice Sunday encounters.

There are plenty of good showdowns this week, such as the Minnesota Vikings playing Green Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints playing Los Angeles against the Rams in a rematch of the January NFC title match. latest.

I went 9-6-1 directly with my selections last week, which is not about to be good enough. I have chosen some problems, but they have not passed.

This week, I especially like that home teams are winning outright. Let's hope the total wins reach double digits this week.

Pete Prisco and R.J. White joined Will Brinson at the Friday edition of the Pick Six podcast to break the playing angles on all games and give the best results. Listen to it below and make sure you sign up:

Buccaneers to the Panthers (-6.5)

The Bucs still had turnover problems last week against the 49ers. It must change. But it will not be easy to do here for a short week on the road. Carolina has played a solid game against the Rams and being at home for a short week can help. The panthers take it.

To choose: Panthers 27, Bucs 17

Result: Buccaneers 20, Panthers 14

Cardinals in the Ravens (-13.5)

It was a long journey for the Cardinals, but they showed some dynamism to fight against the Lions last week. Kyler Murray impressed in the second half. Lamar Jackson was sensational against Miami. Can it continue here? You bet. The crows win it.

To choose: Ravens 30, Cardinals 20

49ers to Bengals (-1)

The 49ers play consecutive games on the road outside the division, which is always difficult. They showed up last week in Tampa behind the defense. The Bengals were impressed to lose a tight match in Seattle. I think their defense will be great here again. The Bengals take it.

To choose: Bengals 23, 49ers 20

Chargers (-2,5) at Lions

The Lions will play their first game at home, which will be a tough challenge for the Chargers. They had defense problems last week against the Colts. The Chargers are the best team and I think Philip Rivers will enlighten the Lions.

To choose: Chargers 24, Lions 20

Vikings at the Packers (-2.5)

It's one of the best games on the weekends. The Packers will be more rested after playing Thursday. Their attack was terrible against the Bears, but I think it's better here. Both defenses are first class. This could be an underperforming match, but I think the home team will take it behind his defense.

To choose: Packers 19, Vikings 16

Jaguars at Texans (-9)

Rookie Gardner Minshew will take his first steps into the NFL on the road against a team playing a home opening game. It will be difficult. But he played well last week to the relief of Nick Foles. The Texans seemed to have defensive problems against the Saints. But the offense was explosive. Still, I think the Jaguars slow down Deshaun Watson and keep him nearby.

To choose: Texans 23, Jaguars 20

Patriots (-18.5) in dolphins

This has all the qualities of an eruption. But the Patriots have always had problems in Miami. Is this factor here? No chance. The dolphins are messy and Tom Brady will cut them to shreds. It will be difficult to watch. Children should cover their eyes.

To choose: Patriots 40, Dolphins 10

Bills (-2) at Giants

The Bills play consecutive games on the road in the same stadium after defeating the Jets last week. They came from behind in the fourth quarter to do it. The defense was exceptional. I think that continues here. Giants are a mess. The Bills go to 2-0.

To choose: Invoices 21, Giants 16

Seahawks at the Steelers (-4)

The Steelers seemed terrible to lose to the Patriots, but this is their first home game and you can bet they will be focused after losing as they did. Seattle has shown some problems to beat the Bengals, who will play here – mainly their poor online offensive game and their bad side game. The Steelers will get their first win of the season.

To choose: Steelers 30, Seahawks 20

Colts at the Titans (-3)

The Titans were surprised last week by beating the Browns on the road. The defense was impressive. The Colts play consecutive games on the road, which is difficult. The defense had problems with the shippers and I think that will be reported here. The Titans will go to 2-0.

To choose: Titans 21, Colts 17

Cowboys (-4,5) at Redskins

The Cowboys were dominant on the offensive last week, with Dak Prescott taking the win with four touchdowns. It will be harder on the road against a better defense, but I still think the offensive will roll. The Redskins will stay home, but the Cowboys will win a tough victory on the road.

To choose: Cowboys 26, Redskins 23

Chefs (-8) at Raiders

The Raiders impressed the Broncos – especially in defense. This unit was choking sometimes. Now, they are facing a real challenge in this offense in Kansas City. Can they slow down Patrick Mahomes? I do not think so. The leaders will still ride to another victory on the road, even without Tyreek Hill.

To choose: Chiefs 32, Raiders 20

Bears (-1) at Broncos

The Broncos were terrible in their initial loss to the Raiders, but Chicago was not much better. Bear quarterback Mitch Trubisky needs to bounce back here, but the Denver defense is doing it too. I lean towards the Denver defense to get back on track. Disturbs.

To choose: Broncos 21, bears 14

Saints in Rams (-3)

This rematch of the NFC Championship game will be fun. Both teams can score. I would expect to see a passing duel between Drew Brees and Jared Goff. Brees is not as good on the road as at home, that's why I think the Rams are going to win a close one.

To choose: Rams 35, Saints 28

Eagles (-1) at the Falcons

This should be a fun shootout. The Falcons looked lifeless last week in the first period after their loss to the Vikings. The Eagles did the same, but rallied in the second half to beat the Redskins. The Falcons do not support the 0-2 to start the season, so they will find the way to win a shoot-off. Matt Ryan gets the best of Carson Wentz.

To choose: Hawks 33, Eagles 30

Browns (-6.5) to the Jets

With Sam Darnold, Jets coach Adam Gase will be at rest. But the Browns also have problems. I still think the Jets hang out with Trevor Siemian.

To choose: Browns 21, Jets 20
