GREEN BAY – The Pro Football Writers of America have chosen Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers as their most valuable NFL player for 2020.

Rodgers was previously the PFWA MVP Award after the 2011 and 2014 seasons, tying him to Tom Brady for the second-highest number in the history of the PFWA MVP honor. The Honor AP, which is considered the official NFL award, will be announced the night before Super Bowl LV.

The 16-year-old veteran quarterback has started all 16 games this season, completing 372 of 526 passes (70.7%) for 4,299 yards and 48 touchdowns with five interceptions.

Rodgers’ 121.5 passer rating was the second-best single-season score in league history behind just his 122.5 rating in 2011. He set franchise records in one season for passing touchdowns and the percentage of success.

He led the NFL this season in the passer rankings, passing touchdowns, completion percentage and interception percentage (0.95), the first QB to lead the NFL in all four categories since Steve Young in 1992.

Tennessee running back Derrick Henry and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald were named the PFWA offensive and defensive players of the year, respectively.
