PGA TOUR and European Tour announce historic strategic alliance

The European Tour and the PGA TOUR today ushered in an important new era for world golf with the historic announcement of a strategic alliance.

This historic agreement will see the two great circuits of golf explore all facets of collaboration, working together on strategic business opportunities, including collaboration on global media rights in certain territories.

This will go through part of the deal which sees the PGA TOUR acquire a minority stake in European Tour Productions (ETP), the European Tour’s media production company, which produces and distributes content internationally.

The tours will also work in partnership on a number of other areas, including global programming, prizes and play opportunities for respective memberships. Further details on these areas will be announced in due course.

One element of the partnership that can be confirmed today is the fact that PGA TOUR Commissioner Jay Monahan will serve on the European Tour Board of Directors.
