He waited for this moment all his life of 3 years.
Little Isaac Kearney’s adoration for Phil Collins paid off recently when a video of him passionately lip-syncing and playing drums on the pop star’s 1981 hit “In the Air Tonight” went viral.
“Isaac loves watching Phil Collins on YouTube,” Isaac’s mother, 29-year-old health care assistant Melissa Kearney, told SWNS.
Reviewing the Genesis singer’s performances online inspired the Liverpool-based boy – who was born with the rare genetic Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome – to a performance worthy of internet fame when the track recently hit the radio.
“Isaac had actually fallen asleep in the car on his way home from a shopping spree when ‘In the Air Tonight’ started playing and he woke up,” Kearney said.
“Right away his eyes [were] wide open and [he] started singing, so I took out my camera, ”she added, noting that Isaac was“ half asleep ”in the video but nothing could stop him from performing“ his favorite song ” .
Kearney first started recording Isaac so that she could show her grandparents the boy’s performance. But when she uploaded the video, it became clear that more than loved ones found Isaac’s concert in the car seat entertaining – and it’s not the first time: Earlier this year, a video Isaac’s channeling Whitney Houston has also gone viral.
“He’s a real character. He loves all the attention; it encourages him more when he notices people are watching him, ”Kearney said of Isaac’s reaction to love online. “Isaac is the funniest, outgoing, brave, intelligent, caring and sassy little boy. He lives for music.
One day, Kearney hopes to take Isaac to a Phil Collins concert. “He would be delighted if he saw him play live. I can just imagine him now with his drum actions watching Phil, ”she said of the reportedly ill 70-year-old musician.
