Phil Spencer confirms again that Xbox is looking to acquire more studios

Xbox Director Phil Spencer spoke in a new interview with Bloomberg as part of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launch, once again confirming that Xbox is still looking to acquire more studios .

Asked about the recent deal to acquire ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, Spencer pointed out that the acquisition nearly doubles the size of Xbox Game Studios, but he still wants more.

“Games are what gamers play. We’re building these platforms and services to deliver the best games to gamers around the world, so we need a lot of proprietary teams. Bethesda is almost doubling the size of our teams. proprietary studios, that is, the studios that create games as part of the Xbox, and we are always looking for other teams. It is important that we have a continuous supply of great games for our subscription and our gaming platforms.

Spencer previously pointed out in July that his team was “always there to talk to people,” and that, according to senior Microsoft officials, “there was no sign that we should be slowing down.”
