Every year the latest NBA 2K game drops and creates some sort of odds controversy. Either a player doesn’t like their 3-point rating, or their overall rating is too low. Rarely, if ever, does someone complain about being too highly rated.
Last year Zion Williamson called Ronnie Singh the game’s digital marketing director, also known as Ronnie2k, on Team Media Day, when he was falsely told that his rating was 81. His real rating was 86 last year.
For the Philadelphia 76ers, the team has seen a real movement in terms of overall rating. Let’s break it down.

Joel Embiid is a 95 overall and among the top seven in the game. With such a high rating, the question is not so much what he can do, but what he cannot do in this game. He can do everything but run, pass, and play perimeter defense, basically. Embiid is going to be crazy in this game.

Tobias Harris will be a dangerous shooter and scorer, with a high IQ and over 85 shooting stats. He’s not the best defenseman or rebounder, but his score should make him valuable.

Ben Simmons, apparently set to exit, has been demoted to 84 this season after being 87 in each of 2K21 and 2K20. It has a robust card, despite the overall standings, but is really lacking in the shooting and rebounding categories. He has 58 3-point and 46 half-shot marks with poor rebound marks.

Andre Drummond might just be a low-rated gem on this game with solid defensive ratings, inside scoring and rebounding. He’ll be a beast on the glass with 97 defensive rebounds and 90 offensive rebounds. He also has a standing dunk of 95.

Curry will be the same in-game as it is in real life – shoot, shoot, shoot. There isn’t much else besides his 84+ ratings in the shooting category. There are also decent games, but mostly shoots.

Danny Green presents himself as a three-and-D winger with an 84 3-point shot. He has encouraging perimeter defensive ratings, including 87 on perimeter defense and lateral quickness. His 60-shot IQ is a bit of a concern for the card, however.

Tyrese Maxey is not a particularly notable player, but has some intriguing notes. He has a 95 close shot with an IQ of 85 shots, so he will be able to put away lay-ups. However, he only has a 3 point shot of 69. He also had intermediate level play.

Shake Milton and Tyrese Maxey are incredibly similar in terms of odds, but Milton will be a much better shot. He has an 88 close shot and a midrange with a 78 3-ball.

Matisse Thybulle doesn’t offer much offensively outside of his 75 3-pointers, but he’s a blocked defender. The goalie has a score of 98 steals and over 83 on all defensive stats except home defense. He also has good speed and endurance.

The 76ers have two rookies this year. Jaden Springer and Charles Bassey each get a low overall rating of 70. Springer is a 71, in line with most of the other late first-round players caught last season.
