PHILADELPHIA – Nick Sirianni isn’t making his way to his first game against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Philadelphia Eagles coach sported a “Beat Dallas” jersey at his press conference on Thursday, a refrain he has heard more from fans than any other since taking up his coaching duties- chef in January.
“I really like being able to participate in this rivalry and it means a lot to the city, to our team; it means a lot to this building,” he said.
“I’m going to wear it all week. My kids have it, my wife has it. And, yes, we will.”

They aren’t the only ones embracing this NFC East rivalry. Right tackle Lane Johnson said the whole squad had jerseys. Sirianni also showed a video at a team meeting Wednesday morning highlighting the story between the two franchises, according to Johnson.
Sirianni has said of all the NFL rivalries, this one reminds him the most of a classic college football rivalry. He’s comfortable kissing her, even though wearing the T-shirt gives Dallas a bit of bulletin board material.
“Yeah, I’m sure they’re going to have the picture of that shirt over there. And that’s good,” he said. “With the rivalry and it’s a division game, I’m not sure if anyone needs – our side, their side – needs more bulletin board material or if that will even help, because we know to how great the rivalry is and how much that means to both sides. “
There weren’t any “Beat Philly” shirts in Dallas, but Ezekiel Elliott wore a sweatshirt that said “VICTORY”.
“It means a lot. I definitely mean our biggest rival, especially since I’ve been here,” said Elliott. “Probably the team I don’t like the most. But Philly week is always fun. I know AT&T is going to be electric on Monday night… I think we’re good to go.”
Would Elliott like to see his trainer, Mike McCarthy, wear a T-shirt that says “Beat Philly” or something worse?
“No, we are staying on our way,” he said.
Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs also gave his thoughts on Sirianni’s attire at the press conference.
“Nothing real. I’m really not trying to pay attention to outside factors, outside of our organization. I’m just focusing on what we’re focusing on… so that doesn’t bother me,” Diggs said.
The Eagles take on the Cowboys on Monday Night Football at 8 p.m. EST on ESPN.
