Philadelphia Eagles Count: Miles Sanders Leads Back Against Ground While Injury Disrupts Things

[ad_1]

ATLANTA – The Eagles have returned from defeat 24 hours a day against the Falcons, an injured group. Five players left the match with injuries. Four others were evaluated and returned. It's a group of injured sitting 1-1 after two weeks of the NFL season.

While this creates some uncertainty for the Eagles, it makes instant assessments a little more interesting. Here's how things happened at the Mercedes-Benz stadium on Sunday night.

Quarterbacks (81 snapshots in total): Carson Wentz (75), Josh McCown (6), Nate Sudfeld (inactive)

Analysis: Wentz missed six games at the end of the first half because he was being assessed for a head injury. He described the experience as "super frustrating" because the call from the observer to watch him was delayed, which led him to miss six games. McCown was 3 of 5 for 24 yards in his first action with the Eagles.

Running backs: Miles Sanders (35), Darren Sproles (28), Jordan Howard (18), Corey Clement (0)

Analysis: Once again, Sanders led the back. He just did not have much success with 10 races for 28 yards. Coach Doug Pederson said he was still confident in the young back, who had made his career debut. There are just some growing pains. A week after Sproles touched the ball in more than half of his offense, he had only two offensive hits. The Eagles have to find the middle ground with him.

Wide receivers: Nelson Agholor (78), JJ Arcega-Whiteside (75), Mack Hollins (69), DeSean Jackson (11), Alshon Jeffery (6)

Analysis: Yes, this group looks a little weird. Arcega-Whiteside was targeted four times by Wentz and finished with one jack for four yards. It's a learning experience for the rookie. Hollins finished with a career record of five catches in 50 yards. He turned 26 on Monday.

Tight ends: Zach Ertz (81), Dallas Goedert (DNP)

Analysis: Ertz (8 catches, 72 yards) said he was not sure he had already played every game, but he seems to have managed the feat twice last year. Goedert injured the same calf that marginalized him for most of the pre-season.

Offensive line: Jason Kelce (81), Isaac Seumalo (81), Brandon Brooks (81), Lane Johnson (81), Jason Peters (80), Halapoulivaati Vaitai (4), Andre Dillard (1), Nate Herbig (inactive), Jordan Mailata (inactive), Matt Pryor (inactive)

AnalysisPeters had to leave for a late play, which allowed Dillard to make his debut at the left tackle. He did well. Kelce had a strange situation where he headed for the wrong bench but said it was because of the shift and some false instructions given by the Falcons. It was an interesting explanation.

Defensive ends (66 shots in total): Brandon Graham (51), Derek Barnett (50), Josh Sweat (18), Vinny Curry (17), Shareef Miller (inactive), Daeshon Hall (inactive)

Analysis: Barnett finished with three hits in the quarter, but he did not put Matt Ryan down. Last week, Curry took a slap more than Sweat in the rotation, but they changed roles here. Sweat was rushing from inside to at least one room, which was an interesting look from the Eagles.

Defensive attacks: Fletcher Cox (49), Hassan Ridgeway (31), Tim Jernigan (26), Akeem Spence (21).

AnalysisSpence signed with the Eagles less than a week ago and should be the third tack of the rotation. This is exactly the turn of events. Ridgeway seems about to start next to Cox, although Jernigan is missing, which could take a month, could be longer, according to reports.

linebackers: Nigel Bradham (66), Zach Brown (50), Nathan Gerry (20), T.J. Edwards (0), L.J. Fort (0), Kamu Grugier-Hill (inactive)

AnalysisBradham played every time for the second week in a row, while Brown and Gerry saw a slight rise against the Atlanta offense. Gerry had his second career interception in the end zone to keep the Eagles in the game.

cornerbacksRonald Darby (59), Avonte Maddox (43), Rasul Douglas (39), Sidney Jones (32), Craig James (1).

Analysis: Darby had the heavy workload with Douglas and Jones, who started rotating outside. Maddox, of course, is cut off from nickel, while James was pushed into action a few days after being removed from the training team.

security: Malcolm Jenkins (66), Rodney McLeod (66), Andrew Sendejo (20), Johnathan Cyprien (1), Rudy Ford (0).

Analysis: Sendejo finished with the only bag of defense, which took a big place late in the game. He is a third security well.

specialists: Cameron Johnston (6), Jake Elliott (6), Rick Lovato (6)

Analysis: Johnston had a punch at 1. He's a real weapon.

Special teams (24 snapshots in total): Nathan Gerry (22), TJ Edwards (19), Andrew Sendejo (18), Johnathan Cyprien (17), Rudy Ford (17), LJ Fort (17), Mack Hollins (13), Craig James (11 years old), Corey Clement (10 years old).

AnalysisWisconsin's unregistered free agent, Edwards, plays a key role in the lineup, while Hollins demonstrated his value in this phase of the game by defeating Johnston's goal at 1.
