Everyone knew the Philadelphia Flyers were going to be active trying to fill in the holes on the blue line, but no one knew how fast.
In the early hours of the weekend of the 2021 NHL Draft, the Flyers reportedly acquired right-back Rasmus Ristolainen from the Buffalo Sabers in return for Robert Hagg, the 13th overall pick in tonight’s draft, and a 2023 2nd round pick.
Looks like Rasmus Ristolainen is heading to Philadelphia on a package that includes the Sabers getting the 13th pick in the draft.

Ristolainen, 26, has been the Sabers’ blue line anchor for several years now, but has some of the worst numbers in the league while playing tough minutes. With only a year left on his contract which puts him in a cap of $ 5.4million, it certainly comes back big and bets on a decent improvement if he isn’t subjected to the best forwards in the league who come his way. . Who knows if it will even happen.
With Ristolainen’s contracts on their books, the Flyers now have around $ 8.4 million to re-sign Carter Hart, Travis Sanheim and fill the depths of their roster.
